ABOUT
CASCEF :
In line with the Institute’s vision of becoming a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in financial
studies and business related disciplines in the Southern Africa sub region, CASCEF’s vision
is to create an environment where the Centre can produce research output of the highest
intellectual order and practical relevance for both public and private sectors.
Specifically the Centre:
| • |
Promotes and undertakes high quality research on relevant/topical/current issues
within the Institute’s areas of competence
|
| • |
Works towards the development of a network of partners both internal and external
who are interested in the distribution of research output
|
| • |
Promotes dialogue between academia and the industry with a view to advancing
relevant research solutions to practical oriented industry problems
|
| • |
Spearheads collaborations with various international Research Centres particularly
those whose focus is in line with the Centre’s research focal
areas
|
| • |
Maintains a database of relevant information on the Centre’s research output that
could be available to interested organizations on a commercial
basis
|
| • |
Organises fee based international and local conferences, and workshops to
disseminate research projects findings |
In addition to providing accessible answers to questions on the Institute’s areas of
competence, CASCEF offers a platform for discussions particularly on topical/current issues
in order to encourage informal exchange of information, stimulate academic debate and
influence the policy making process in the country. Furthermore the Centre responds to the
needs of the industry / community and stakeholders as created by reform programmes and
development of public and private sectors.
It is the Centre’s intention to contribute towards the attainment of this objective through the provision of applied research services
and hosting of fee based conferences and workshops on various relevant current issues. In
doing so the Centre further contributes towards IFM’s philosophy of becoming an agent of
change in public and private sector development.
