This qualification is designed for a person who will independently study, apply, plan, innovate and manage Information and Communication Technology solutions for better performance in the dynamic business environments. The programme has been developed towards producing responsible, creative graduates with skills necessary to deal with professional Computing and Information Technology aspects in an organization.
Programme Objective

Entry Requirement and Eligibility
Direct Entry: Any two principal passes in science subjects. Those without a principal pass or subsidiary pass in Mathematics must have a credit at O’ Level.
Equivalent qualification: Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Engineering or Computer Science with at least average of “B” or GPA of 3.0, and at least Four Passes (Excluding Religious Subjects) at O’ Level.

Programme Objectives
The programme aims at achieving the following goals:
a)To form a flexible course that is responsive to dynamic and rapidly changing world of work and the society;
b)To provide higher economics and finance skills, knowledge and behaviors that are vital to learners, employers and the community at large;
c)To entice self-realization, team work, problem solving and decision making skills that enable graduates to perform efficiently and aspire for higher level training;
d)To build capacity to participate in the implementation of National Economic Policy and its accompanying Operational Guidelines; and
e)To transmit and promote moral, legal and ethical conduct among economists and other related workers within the economic and finance profession.
The Bsc. E F, NTA level 7 offered by the Institute of Finance Management is a three-years programme that enables graduates to become competent managers in the field of economics and finance.
At the end of the programme the prospective graduates will be competent to:
(i) Apply principles of management, research techniques and entrepreneurship skills in different business environment
(ii) Apply principles of marketing, legal concepts in communicating issues related to socio-economic development
(iii) Apply accounting and finance techniques in analyzing viable investment on a given capital market and economic situation
(iv) Apply basic and intermediate micro and macro economics theories, trade and investment concepts in analyzing economic problem in given socio economic environment
(v) Apply information communication technological (ICT) skills and knowledge in economic analysis and forecast
(vi) Apply natural resources principles and theories on making managerial decisions for socio-economic development realization
Direct Entry: A good Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with two Principal Passes with total points not below 4.5.
Equivalent qualification: NTA Level 6 (Ordinary Diploma) with at least B grade in relevant modules or equivalent qualifications in the related field.

Upon successful completion of Bsc. Economics and Finance NTA level 7, candidates are expected to demonstrate the following:
(i)Ability to carry out finance analysis, investment quality analysis and economic policy formulation and assessments with minimum supervision.
(ii)Acquisition of knowledge and skills in finance, financial management, financial markets, accounting, financial analysis, international finance, finance and investments, financial and economic forecasting, and decision making for the growth and sustainability of the economy
(iii)Ability to associated economic and finance concepts into real estate markets, investment and public policies with real estate issues
(iv)Ability to carry out analysis in broad range of the methods and models applied by economists in the analysis of firms and industries

This qualification is designed to produce competent personnel in accounting and auditing field to work at middle level positions in the accounting and auditing sector.
Programme Objectives
The holder of this qualification will be able to;
i. Perform routine and non−routine accounting and auditing duties and excise some supervisory skills in accounting and auditing fields and prepare accounting information from complete and incomplete records.
ii. Independently work in accounting and auditing section, describe and apply management principles in business organisations and apply entrepreneurial techniques in planning, appraising and managing an enterprise.
iii. Apply appropriate corporate finance principles in making investment decisions and ability to apply commercial law and solve legal problems in different business contexts.
Direct Entry: Holder of Form six certificates with at least a principal and a subsidiary pass (excluding religious subjects).
Equivalent qualification: A Form Four certificate with at least four passes (religious subjects not counted) and with NTA level 4 i.e. Basic Certificate from a recognized higher learning institution. For ODCS and ODIT, one of the passes at O – level must be in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

The programme is geared towards producing junior professionals with accounting skills and knowledge in a broad range of work activities, most of which are non−routine.
The programme runs for two (2) years where Ordinary Diploma in Accounting (ODAC) is awarded upon successfully completion of two National Technical Awards programmes at level 5 (NTA 5) and level 6 (NTA 6)

This programme is focused on developing professionals with the ability to perform routine tasks in organised groups taking into account environmental and safety issues, applying elementary and accounting skills in performing routine tasks.

This qualification is intended for a person who will competently work at technical level positions at routine level in Taxation Field by performing daily business related tasks involving taxation data and executing the duties assigned to him/her in business environment.

In the last semester during the third year students undertakes a project (ITU08206 Final Year Project) that simulates working in industry. In this project students apply skills in software application development. Many students tackle real-world problems for their projects, with the close involvement and supervision of lecturers and industry partners.
The programme opens up opportunities in several areas of information technology. A graduate of this programme can work as an information systems manager, systems administrator, IT project manager and systems analyst.

Tuition Fee Structure
i) For Tanzanians is Tshs. 1,500,000 payable in two installments.

This qualification is intended to produce competent experts who will be able to provide services in a range of social protection issues, at higher levels of an organisation. The programme has been developed to produce responsible, creative, comprehensive graduates to deal with social policy administration, including social protection systems, social health financing systems/methods and other income security programmes designed to respond to the socio−economic demands of the nation.
Programme Objectives
The graduates of this programme will be competent and able to;
i. Design and implement viable and sustainable social protection systems.
ii. Plan and manage social protection schemes in the country and elsewhere.
iii. Evaluate, analyse and design sustainable social protection systems.
iv. Manage actuarial information systems, implement actuarial recommendations and facilitate actuarial valuation of a social protection system.
Direct Entry:Two principal passes at A-level
Equivalent qualification: Diploma in Social Protection, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Banking and Finance with an average of “B” or GPA of 3.0, and at least four passes (excluding religious subjects) at O-level.
